About Us

Salam Readers,

Suami is my husband, and Isteri is me the one who usually blogs as Suami is not into this. But he reads. Anyways....

Suami works as a baker in a well known 5-star boutique hotel in Hong Kong. Isteri is currently not working, as I left my 3 years job as an Interior Designer, to follow Suami for work. Its not that I regret anything, but I think this journey I'm going through now, is given by Allah, as he read my prayers that I wanted to travel around and explore the given beauty by Him.

Living in another person's country is difficult. As Suami & I have been living in a Muslim country where lifestyle, culture, religion are in our nature without having the need to adapt on any situation. But its not that hard living away from your own "tanah tumpahnya darahku". You need to adapt quickly and be matured and open your minds & perspectives. Don't judge a person easily, as they do not have the same ways of living as us Muslim.

Living in Hong Kong is a challenge when it comes to looking for food. I cant deny the fact that I love Chinese style cooking, but back in my homeland, eating Chinese, is cooked by a Muslim. We try to live a Halal lifestyle here in HK. I mean, not to say back at home, we don't, just that back at home, we got no worries or doubts of the food that we eat. Brands/products/food/drinks/body care/clothes/etc have a Halal logo stamped on it. Here, we pick something up and we question about it. But Alhamdulillah. Allah's great, Allah's Al-mighty. He helped Suami & me broaden our mind & knowledge. He made us more conscious on what we are eating/drinking. We do research on the product, read their labels, check out their ingredients, and PLUS, I added another skill which I'm proud to say, "I'm not bad at all". Cooking.

We eat home cook most of the time. And if we crave for something, we make them from scratch. Its not 100% percent taste the same, but, we know, its Halal & healthy. And I'm a wife. I need to learn to COOK. hehehe.

To those Muslim from around the world, if you plan to come visit Hong Kong, do a little bit of research by reading our blog of where bouts there's halal places to eat, or food which both Suami & I thinks is safe to eat/drink. And also, we look for places to hang out. We wouldn't want to miss any fun too, right? Insya'Allah, we can survive in any places in the world because of Allah.

Salam & Signing off,
The Mrs.
